"Prepare to Meet Thy God".........................................................................................................Amos 4:12
Hebrews 9:27 We are all going to meet Jesus, whether we are saved or not.
Romans 14:9-12 Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. It is written: "As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God." So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Revelation 20:11-15 The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
The wheat from chaff is separated in these verses. We want to be on the "wheat side". We have to be prepared to meet God.
Isaiah 53:5 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.
Nobody can be prepared to meet God on their own.
How do we prepare to meet God? God would not command the impossible.
Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
He died for us to forgive our sin. He rose from the dead so we too can rise.
We prepare by having faith in Him. Acts 16:31 - They (Paul and Silas) replied (to their jailers), "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved — you and your household." Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house.
Maybe you are a believer that is off track. We can come back (1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.) by asking forgiveness for straying from God.
Sometimes we're not given another chance to do what we need to do or say. Do it now while you still are able.
