    "Groundless Fears"............................................................................Genesis 32:1-33:4
Jacob had a fear that was pointless to worry about. Jacob was a twin of Esau. He stole Esau's birthright. He fled at his mother's (Rebecca's) advice.
Jacob didn't give his fears over to God. Distress comes from not turning worries over to God. We let our fears stop us from doing what we need to do.
Jacob's fear gave him doubts about his faith. He gave large gifts to Esau out of fear. Gifts were supposed to soften the blow of what he had done to Esau. Fear probably affects our finances because we hold on to the money. We could have done more with it if we had not held on out of fear. Jacob's fear affected his family. Fear causes tempers and complaining to happen. We should act in faith, not fear. Remember that God is bigger than our fears. Tell him about your fears and ask him to help you.
Faith in Christ brings his presence, protection, and peace.
