"Good Tidings of Great Joy"............................................................................Luke 2:1-18
Something we all want is Joy. We look for it. When we find it the moment is often temporary. We let it get
away from us sometimes.
Without the virgin birth the holidays and our redemption crumbles. Ref: Luke 2:1-18.
Unlike any other religions, there were more prophecies written and fulfilled about Jesus, than any other
religious leader. Jesus was born at night. The world was in spiritual darkness at that time.
The shepherds probably knew a Savior was coming. When the angels came they believed and were not afraid anymore.
The shepherds probably grew up knowing the prophecies that had been told.
We see more sadness at Christmas than other times. Think about what we didn't accomplish during the year, who we
don't get to see at Christmas, or worry about gift giving. We should have joy about eternal life instead of sadness
about worldly things at Christmas. Most people find excitement about their salvation experience. Christmas should
be a time we are moved to be missionaries.
